MoneySolve: 2009 Breaks all the Wrong Debt Records

MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Jan. 13, 2010) - 2009 was a record breaking year for a number of the wrong reasons. Statistics released by the Samaritans reveal that 48% of the British adult population worried about their personal finances and debt problems during the course of year, with 23% describing 2009 as their 'worst' financial year. And the worries are backed up by the figures. By the end of October, 2009 had already recorded more personal insolvencies than in any other full year. The third quarter of the year alone saw a record breaking 35,242 people become insolvent. This figure includes anyone forced to become bankrupt, individuals entering into an IVA and those obtaining a Debt Relief Order. The figure does not account for individuals entering into an informal debt management plan.
