Robert Descharnes, French photographer and 40-year friend and assistant to Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali is awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona in recognition of personal merit as the world's foremost expert on and defender of the works of the Master painter, accepted by his son Nicolas in Barcelona.
