New Speed Cameras Catch Up With Speeding Motorcyclists

Swinton is warning motorcyclists to watch their speed, as the new Specs 3 cameras, currently only used on motorways in the UK, are installed on more remote roads across the UK.
Conventional speed cameras take photos of vehicles from the front, making it difficult to identify speeding motorcyclists who only have a number plate above the back wheel. However the Specs3 camera, which allows a network of cameras to measure the average speed of vehicles between camera locations, can also perform the same task from behind as well.
