Van Insurance Specialist Welcomes Electric Car Plans
FLINT, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Jan. 31, 2010) - Leading cheap van insurance brokers Staveley Head have welcomed news from car manufacturer Nissan, together with Regional Development Agency One North East of plans to create charging points across the area for the company's new electric vehicle LEAF. In total, 619 charging points for this and other electric motor vehicles will be installed will be free of charge until March 2012.
The world's first affordable electric vehicle for the global mass market, the Nissan LEAF will go on sale in Japan, the US and Europe in late 2010. Designed specifically for a lithium-ion battery-powered chassis, this medium-size hatchback comfortably seats five adults and has a range of more than 160km (100 miles) on a single charge. This means that it is one of the first electric cars which is viable for use on a daily basis.
